Join Parklands Rangers to help us improve the habitat of Turtle Island by removing the monoculture of box elder woody weeds as part of our ‘Restoring Roosting Refuges’ project.
No experience is necessary as Rangers will guide you in plant identification and removal techniques. A great opportunity to explore the 20 hectares of Turtle Island and learn about the Murray River and bush restoration techniques!
Please note: You will be required to paddle in a canoe a short distance across the Murray River to reach Turtle Island.
When: 8 am to 10 am.
Where: Meet at the Doctors Point boat ramp.
What is supplied: All tools and any specific equipment and PPE needed.
What to bring: BYO drinking water. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, a hat, and closed shoes.
