Pruning pointers in an East Albury habitat garden

Sat 5 Oct, 2024 | 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Explore an all-native wildlife garden with optional pruning presentation by Chiara Cass.

Six years ago, this one-acre garden was overrun with paspalum. The owners have transformed it into a native meadow with sweeping views of distant hills. Grassy tussocks and shrubby mounds are framed by melaleuca and eucalypt copses lining the boundaries.

Chiara Cass will take visitors on a half-hour guided stroll of the garden, sharing her expertise on pruning and maintaining a variety of native shrubs, including grevilleas, correas, eremophilas, callistemons, wattles and saltbush.

Choose from four time-slots for Chiara’s pruning presentations, which will start at 9.00am, 10.00am, 11.00am, and midday.

Tickets – $6 for pruning presentation and garden entry, $4 for garden entry only. RSVP by Wednesday 2 October 2024:

Visitors interested in exploring the garden at their own pace can arrive at any time within their selected slot and enjoy the garden as long as they wish.

Please be aware that the garden’s sloping terrain features narrow, winding paths with uneven surfaces, making it unsuitable for wheelie walkers and young children.

This event is hosted by Gardens 4 Wildlife Albury-Wodonga, a Wodonga Urban Landcare Network program, with generous support from AlburyCity.
