Foxes are one of the most significant threats to our native biodiversity and they impact our livestock and agricultural production. This workshop offers an opportunity to engage with experts on fox behaviour and best practice control options at landscape scale with a focus on peri-urban areas and collaborative management.
Wodonga Urban Landcare Network is working with Agriculture Victoria to deliver this workshop on managing foxes in our area. The workshop with be held in two sessions outlined below.
The first session is a presentation and will focus on:
- History, biology, behaviour
- Impacts on the environment and biodiversity
- Proven integrated management
- Collaboration and landscape approach
- Importance of humane and legal practice
The second session will be in the field for:
- Identifying signs of foxes (and other possible pest species)
- Demonstration of control techniques such as trapping and baiting
- Assessing management options best suited to your problem and property
