Join us at our Baranduda Fields EcoHub for a hands-on exploration of nest boxes, tree hollows and the wildlife that depends on them.
Dylan McWhinney from DM Ecological will showcase a variety of nest boxes and discuss their purpose, benefits, limitations and the important role they can play in supporting native fauna. Learn about the latest developments in nest box design, installation and monitoring, and gain insights into how these artificial habitats are helping support threatened species across our region.
Dylan will also present findings from the latest Threatened Species Monitoring Program (TSMP) report commissioned by Albury Conservation Company, highlighting recent monitoring results and what they reveal about habitat usage and connectivity.
Also joining us will be Heath Hancock of Preservatree, a qualified arborist who will demonstrate the innovative Hollow Hog, a specialist tool used to create habitat hollows within existing trees. This exciting demonstration will showcase how artificial hollows can help address the shortage of natural tree hollows in our landscape and provide critical habitat for hollow-dependent species.
