Explore a BushBank restoration project on a private property in Newham!
Join us for a ‘Walk and Talk’ at a local BushBank site to learn how we’re transforming landscapes and supporting biodiversity. You’ll hear directly from Cassina Environmental, project partners & landowners and see the revegetation efforts firsthand.
What is BushBank?
The Victorian Government’s $77 million BushBank Program is restoring more than 20,000 hectares of land across Victoria to create healthy wildlife habitat and capture carbon. The majority of work is taking place on private land through partnerships with private landowners.
It’s the most ambitious environmental restoration program in Victoria’s history.
About Newham
Located in the Central Victorian Uplands, this private property has seen 53 hectares of land restored to Valley Grassy Forest, Grassy Forest and Creekline Herb-rich Woodland. The original forest was mainly cleared for grazing, but the work completed here, under the management of a private landowner, is returning the site to a thriving ecosystem for local flora and fauna.
If you’re a member of the local community, a landowner interested in boosting biodiversity on your property or simply passionate about our wildlife, we invite you to join us at our Walk & Talk where you’ll:
- Witness successful revegetation models in action
- Understand the vital conservation work happening in your local region
- Find out how you can take action on your property to make a difference
- Explore opportunities to partner with BushBank for a project of your own
Come connect with your local environment & see for yourself how strategic revegetation is creating thriving ecosystems and benefiting our community!
This event is hosted by Cassinia Environmental, the major delivery partner for the BushBank program – Private Land Stream and is part of the Spring into Bushbank! event series.
