Mahers hill is about 15 km east of Wodonga and overlooks the Hume dam and surrounding area. The plan is to take a packed lunch and walk to the top and enjoy the views while eating lunch. The walk ascends through box woodland where Kangaroos and Cattle are regularly seen grazing. The distance is 6km and elevation change is 300m.
