Join Parklands Rangers for a wander along House Creek in Wodonga, looking for black willow and learning how to control it. These demonstration days are part of our ‘Applying Technology to Tackle Invasive Pest Plants’ project and black willow is being targeted as it is one of the most invasive pests along our local creeks and rivers.
By continuing to remove these plants when they are in small numbers, we can keep a handle on them and stop them from taking over our waterways.
When: 9:00 am to 11:00 am (2 hrs).
Where: Park along Forrest Mars Ave. near House Creek. The terrain in this area will be a little rough, so gumboots are advised.
What is supplied: All tools and any specific safety equipment needed.
What to bring: BYO drinking water. For your safety, please wear covered shoes (preferably gumboots or other boots), long pants, long sleeves, and a hat.
Who: You can contact Ranger Dan on 0417501352.
Please register here! Sometimes things change at the last minute and we need to be able to contact volunteers.
This project is financially supported by the Victorian Government’s Partnerships Against Pests Program.
