This is one of our annual events and has proved to be popular with members as we follow the ridge line through some magnificent forests while being entertained by the resident lyrebirds. One group led by Bernadette will start from Lockhart’s Gap while the other group led by Ian will start from the Tallangatta Lookout. Lunch will be taken somewhere suitable on the track, usually when both groups meet.
After lunch car keys will be exchanged before both groups walk on to their respective destinations.
At the conclusion of the crossover both groups will gather at the Tallangatta Lookout for a shared afternoon tea where there is under cover seating and BBQ facilities. All walkers should have appropriate warm/wet weather gear. Walking poles are highly recommended due to some very steep sections. The height gain over the day is around 650m.
It is very important that you ring Ian or Bernadette to discuss details as soon as possible after booking as the crossover takes a lot of organizing.
