The hike to the summit of Mount Bogong is amongst Victoria’s most challenging and rewarding. It is planned to reach the summit via the Eskdale Spur Track with an elevation gain of 1487 metres over a relatively short distance, but don’t be fooled, it is rated HARD! You must have a high level of fitness and experience and be comfortable with heights and with walking over steep, rocky and uneven terrain. The walk will start at the beginning of the Eskdale Spur Track and take us up past Michell Hut where we will take a break before tackling the steep, exposed section to the summit. The weather can be variable at this altitude and thunderstorms and snow showers are not uncommon even at this time of the year.
