We are the Albury-Wodonga chapter of the nationwide #StopAdani movement, a growing grassroots movement of local action groups across the country, all working to stop Adani’s disastrous plans for a dirty new coal mine. Adani’s dangerous mine would fuel catastrophic climate change right at the time we need to urgently cut carbon pollution. Adani can’t be trusted and our future lies with clean, renewable power.
Stopping this project is absolutely critical to setting Australia on the path beyond polluting fossil fuels, towards a safe climate for all.
Our group meets every two to four weeks, usually 6pm on Thursday evenings at the Sustainable Activity Centre, Gateway Island.
Since forming in early 2017 we have been actively building the movement, stopping the money and changing the politics, through film nights, meetings with politicians and bank managers, protests, surveys, letters, phone calls and petitions. We’re a friendly, dynamic and creative group and welcome newcomers.
