Quercus Beechworth is a much respected community organisation of 5 part time staff and over 100 volunteers whose aim is to bring the members of the community together. It provides a seasonal calendar of classes, events and workshops, great community spaces, assistance to those in need or during an emergency and social enterprises such as an op shop and book shop.
They also have a productive Community Garden growing fruit and vegetables for community use.
The garden consists of flowers, Australian natives, vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees. Visitors are welcome to take home produce from the garden, including bunches of herbs or green vegetable leaves for salads. The garden offers places to sit and eat, chat, or relax.
And they have invited Seed Savers Albury Wodonga to visit to view the garden and chat to the gardeners over a morning tea!
The complete Seed Savers Albury Wodonga seed bank will not be available but there will be a selection of seeds that are suitable for planting now (free for SSAW members, $5 for non members)
