Welcome to Ecoportal!
We hope you find it a vibrant, reliable and easy tool to advertise, find and support sustainability-related activities in our wonderful region.
Ecoportal is the result of a collaborative and committed effort by many representatives from various community groups working towards sustainability in and around Albury-Wodonga, North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales.
Ecoportal responds to a shared ambition to enhance the cross-fertilisation of ideas and to promote streamlining in the scheduling of community events.
Broadly speaking our website also seeks to;
• Offer a central place for the promotion of upcoming sustainability events;
• Provide links, information and contact details of local sustainability groups;
• Encourage the sharing of skills, knowledge and resources locally; and
• Add to opportunities to network with others.
This collaborative Ecoportal website was first published in March 2012 and now a growing range of community groups maintain a presence, while others dip in from time-to-time to share single events that may be of interest to our readership. A small group of enthusiastic volunteers currently administer the site to keep it relevant, current and effective. We hope and anticipate that the website will evolve as new ideas emerge and different needs are identified.
You don’t need to create a user account to browse the site.
However, if you have a group or event you’d like to add, we encourage you to create a user account. This enables you to receive information and updates from the site and the ability to edit your content. You can also add content without creating an account, but it will require approval and we’d really, really prefer you to create an account. For more about the site visit our guiding principles.
Ecoportal is volunteer run. We appreciate the assistance of the Border Trust, Parklands Albury Wodonga and Murray Local Land Services (in conjunction with funding from the Australian government) who have helped us to pay for web development, hosting and promotional materials.
