SUMMARY:Visit to Alison's Garden including seed saving talk
DESCRIPTION:Seed Savers Albury Wodonga member\, Alison\, is opening her garden in Wodonga again to allow us to view the  ongoing transformation of her large suburban backyard  into a bountiful self-sufficiency garden. She and her husband make their own compost and mulch\, save seeds and grow cuttings to produce a vast range of mainly edible crops.\nAlison gave a very well received talk on seed saving at the off Grid Living festival earlier this year and will repeat it as part of this gardening tour. She is a very knowledgeable gardener and is generous with her advice. \nThe seed bank will not be available at this event but if you have cleaned seed to be deposited\, please bring it along. Also excess produce or plants. \nAlison invites participants to bring lunch and stay after the tour to share discussion with like-minded gardeners. \n\nFree event but booking required as numbers limited\nhttps://events.humanitix.com/alison-s-garden-tour

SUMMARY:Birds on Farms in the Wodonga Hills
DESCRIPTION:Wodonga Urban Landcare Network in conjunction with Leneva Castle Creek Landcare are excited to invite you to a “Birds of Farms” field morning in the Wodonga Hills. \nPeter Callanan and Christine Odewahn purchased their property in 2018 and are transforming the property with shelterbelts to protect from wind\, creekline revegetation to slow erosion\, farm dam restoration work and planned revegetation to enhance habitat for birds. Join Peter and Christine to hear their story and Ben Humphries from Birdlife Australia who will tell us about the BirdLife Australia “Birds on Farms” program prior to leading us on a short walk to explore the property\, hone our birdwatching skills and record what birds are present. \nBirdLife Australia’s “Birds on Farms” project is a great way to learn your birds and record changes on your property over time with 20 minute surveys 4 times a year using BirdLife Australia’s Birdata app. \nIf you are a property owner come along and learn about the program and how birds benefit your farm operation. \nIf you don’t have a property….dont worry\, BirdLife Australia is always on the lookout for volunteer birdwatchers or those with a  keen interest in birds who want to learn. Birdlife Australia offers training to support participants to the program and this event is a great chance to learn more. No bird watching experience is necessary! \nThis is a free event but registration is essential (address provided on registration).\nBookings: events.humanitix.com/birds-wodonga-hills \nMorning tea will be provided \nPhysical Fitness level required: EASY ( Walking  for 1 or more hours required)
