A new date for August will be published soon*\n\n\nThe morning will feature a short and slow guided bushwalk around Browns Island with Uncle Al from Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation who will share his interpretation of the landscape on Browns Island. This Murray River Island is located near Gateway Island between Albury and Wodonga.\n\n\n  \nWith low water levels\, we will likely be able to walk across to the island through Wodonga Creek\, so you’ll need your gumboots! If you don’t have any\, Parklands can supply you with a pair. If river levels rise\, a Canadian canoe will be on hand to shuttle us across to the island. \nWhen: 9:00 am to 11:00 am.\nWhere: Park off Bandiana Link\, Wodonga then walk 400 m to creek crossing site (see Browns Island walk map).\nWhat to bring: Please wear walking boots or enclosed shoes and carry gumboots for the creek crossing (and perhaps a second pair of dry socks). Consider the weather and please wear a hat and bring a jacket if cool. This Murray River Island is located near Gateway Island between Albury and Wodonga. \nThe morning will feature a guided bushwalk around Browns Island to learn about the natural and cultural values of this hidden gem\, and the conservation actions underway. \nWith low water levels\, we will likely be able to walk across to the island through Wodonga Creek\, so you’ll need your gumboots! If you don’t have any\, Parklands can supply you with a pair. If river levels rise\, a Canadian canoe will be on hand to shuttle us across to the island. \nMorning tea will be provided. \nWhen: Friday 27 June\, 9 am to midday.\nWhere: Park off Bandiana Link\, Wodonga then walk 400 m to creek crossing site (see Browns Island walk map).\nWhat: Medium grade 9 km walk around Browns Island.\nWhat to bring: Please wear walking boots or enclosed shoes and carry gumboots for the creek crossing. Consider the weather and please wear a hat and bring a jacket if cool. Bring drinking water and snacks. She and her husband make their own compost and mulch\, save seeds and grow cuttings to produce a vast range of mainly edible crops.\nAlison gave a very well received talk on seed saving at the off Grid Living festival earlier this year and will repeat it as part of this gardening tour. She is a very knowledgeable gardener and is generous with her advice. \nThe seed bank will not be available at this event but if you have cleaned seed to be deposited\, please bring it along.
