DESCRIPTION:Join Parklands Rangers and our Park Stewardship volunteers in Albury’s best bush parks\, every Friday as spring unfolds. \nEvery week we spend 2 hours in Albury’s environmental lands doing practical park tasks. \nYou will work alongside our Rangers experiencing the ‘how to’ of caring for our bush parks and reserves; undertaking a variety of park maintenance/improvement tasks like removing redundant fences\, replacing barbed wire with wildlife friendly plain wire\, weeding\, checking nestboxes and removing tree guards. \nAt the same time\, you will learn about the local environment and how Albury City and community groups are working to protect threatened species\, improve habitat and link habitat corridors across the region. \nWhen: 9.00 to 11.00am (2 hrs) \nWhere: Sept-December we will rotate between parks on a weekly basis. \n\n2nd Friday – Thurgoona environmental lands. Meet at Brooklyn Fields community park carpark\, off Table Top Road\, Thurgoona.\n\nPlease note that meeting places will change over time as various priority works are completed\, so please register online so you can be updated of any changes.\n \nWhat is supplied: All tools and any specific safety equipment needed. \nWhat to bring: BYO drinking water. SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - Spring wildflowers walk on NailCan Hill
DESCRIPTION:This is a slow ramble on Nail Can Hill\, Albury. It gives plenty of opportunity for admiring the range of wildflowers on the hill\, taking photos and catching your breath. Whilst we will be going up and down the hill twice there will be absolutely no rush. It’s at the lower end of grade 3. \nIt will start late morning and include a lunch break. \nThe distance will probably be about 14kms but this will be determined closer to the date when the best spots to visit will be assessed. \nIt will be mostly on  fire trails although there may be one short rocky section ( no scrambling). \nIf you haven’t been in Nail Can in Spring now is the time.
