DESCRIPTION:It is now safe to roll up the sleeves repairing and replacing some of the 35 km of fences along the rail trail that were damaged in the January 2026 bushfires. \n\n\nOver the next few weeks\, we plan to finish this work along the Koetong section so that the Shelley to Darbyshire Hill section can be re-opened by Easter. \nIt is essential that you register for this working bee no later than 24 hours beforehand so that we know you’re coming\, can contact you if things change\, and can provide the correct amount of tools. \n\nWhen: 8:00 am. \nWhere: Meet at the corner of Huon St. and Church St\, Wodonga. SUMMARY:February Park Explorer – Waterworks to Diamond Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Parklands for an adventure on the water! We will be paddling in canoes along the Murray River and Wodonga Creek\, with stops for walk n’ talks! \nPLEASE NOTE: This paddle is for experienced paddlers only! Give this a miss if you are a total beginner but check back as we add more Park Explorer events including walks and cycles later in the year! \nThese Park Explorer events are a new monthly series of Ranger-led experiences that will take you off the usual tracks to learn of the work behind the scenes and about the new trails nearing completion!\n\nParklands Albury Wodonga maintains over 176 km of nature trails together with community and partner organisations with no funds directly supporting this. The funds raised from our monthly Park Explorer experiences will go towards keeping these trails open and well-maintained including contracting a local disability supported employee business to mow track heads and others to mow in remoter areas.\n\nFor the February event\, participants will meet at the canoe ramp at Noreuil Park.  You will be transported to Waterworks where you’ll hop in your canoe and paddle downstream to Diamond Park\, stopping off at sites along the way to check out current works and future plans. At the end of the paddle\, you will be transported back to the car park at Noreuil. \nCost: $50 per person. \nWhen: 8:00 am til around 12:00 pm. \nWhere: Meet at the Noreuil Park canoe ramp. \nWhat is supplied: Canoe hire including life jacket and morning tea. Please advise of any special dietary requirements. \nWhat to bring: Appropriate clothes for canoeing and walking. DESCRIPTION:The Street Harvest project is being reinvigorated – Please consider growing an extra row of produce in your garden to support this project and Uniting in Wodonga. \nAll produce can be dropped off at Uniting (1 Nilmar Avenue\, Wodonga between. 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday to Friday). \nThe project builds and encourages community capacity and improves food security for Wodonga residents by distributing excess fruit and vegetables\, harvested from residential gardens\, to local residents and emergency food relief agencies. \n‘Street Harvest’ was a pilot project developed in Wodonga in 2010. The Street Harvest Project grew out of a passion for transforming the local food system into one that is sustainable and strong.

SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - BOGONG SUMMIT VIA ESKDALE SPUR 9km RETURN
DESCRIPTION:The hike to the summit of Mount Bogong is amongst Victoria’s most challenging and rewarding. It is planned to reach the summit via the Eskdale Spur Track with an elevation gain of 1487 metres over a relatively short distance\, so you must have a high level of fitness and experience and be comfortable with heights . This walk will start from the beginning of the Eskdale Spur Track and take us past Michell Hut where we will take a break before tackling the steep\, exposed section to the summit. The weather can be variable at this altitude and thunderstorms and snow showers are possible even at this time of the year.
