DESCRIPTION:The Street Harvest project is being reinvigorated – Please consider growing an extra row of produce in your garden to support this project and Uniting in Wodonga. \nAll produce can be dropped off at Uniting (1 Nilmar Avenue\, Wodonga between. 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday to Friday). \nThe project builds and encourages community capacity and improves food security for Wodonga residents by distributing excess fruit and vegetables\, harvested from residential gardens\, to local residents and emergency food relief agencies. \n‘Street Harvest’ was a pilot project developed in Wodonga in 2010. The Street Harvest Project grew out of a passion for transforming the local food system into one that is sustainable and strong.

DESCRIPTION:Snow Gums (Eucalyptus pauciflora) are the classic tree of the Australian High Country. They are profoundly different to the trees found in mountain areas in other parts of the world\, and give a uniquely Australian sense to our high country. However\, they are facing a double threat to their survival: from fire and dieback. \nWe are hosting a ‘snow gum summit’ which will bring together land managers and academics and anyone interested in the future of this iconic species to explore what needs to be done to ensure the survival of snow gum woodlands\, and put the issue firmly on the state governments agenda. \nWe will be inviting First Nations people\, local and state wide environmental organisations\, local communities and businesses\, groups active in outdoors recreation\, and enthusiasts of high-elevation\, forest ecosystems.  There will be presentations\, workshops and field trips.

The Street Harvest Project grew out of a passion for transforming the local food system into one that is sustainable and strong.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to be participating at Gardenesque this year! \nCome along and see us at Gardenesque on Saturday and Sunday\, 8th and 9th of March 2025. \nSaturday 10am-4pm\nSunday 10am-3pm \nVisit our Information Hub to learn how to repair and fix all your garden tools so you don’t have to buy brand new.\nHelp us save these items from going to landfill by choosing to learn how to sharpen or repair them.\nWe are offering sharpening only at this event. Limit of 1 item per person.\nYou can also chat with our volunteers about how you can join our community run initiative and volunteer for just 3 hours a month.\nIt will be great to see you! \nPlease note: We ask that you be responsible when bringing your item to us.
