The Street Harvest Project grew out of a passion for transforming the local food system into one that is sustainable and strong.

This Murray River Island is located near Gateway Island between Albury and Wodonga. \nThe morning will feature a guided bushwalk around Browns Island to learn about the natural and cultural values of this hidden gem\, and the conservation actions underway. \nWith low water levels\, we will likely be able to walk across to the island through Wodonga Creek\, so you’ll need your gumboots! If you don’t have any\, Parklands can supply you with a pair. If river levels rise\, a Canadian canoe will be on hand to shuttle us across to the island. \nMorning tea will be provided. \nWhen: Friday 27 June\, 9 am to midday.\nWhere: Park off Bandiana Link\, Wodonga then walk 400 m to creek crossing site (see Browns Island walk map).\nWhat: Medium grade 9 km walk around Browns Island.\nWhat to bring: Please wear walking boots or enclosed shoes and carry gumboots for the creek crossing. She is a very knowledgeable gardener and is generous with her advice. \nThe seed bank will not be available at this event but if you have cleaned seed to be deposited\, please bring it along.
