The Street Harvest Project grew out of a passion for transforming the local food system into one that is sustainable and strong.

DESCRIPTION:Join Parklands for an adventure on the water! We will be paddling in canoes along the Murray River and Wodonga Creek\, with stops for walk n’ talks! \nPLEASE NOTE: This paddle is for experienced paddlers only! Give this a miss if you are a total beginner but check back as we add more Park Explorer events including walks and cycles later in the year! \nThese Park Explorer events are a new monthly series of Ranger-led experiences that will take you off the usual tracks to learn of the work behind the scenes and about the new trails nearing completion!\n\nParklands Albury Wodonga maintains over 176 km of nature trails together with community and partner organisations with no funds directly supporting this. The funds raised from our monthly Park Explorer experiences will go towards keeping these trails open and well-maintained including contracting a local disability supported employee business to mow track heads and others to mow in remoter areas.\n\nFor the February event\, participants will meet at the canoe ramp at Noreuil Park.  You will be transported to Waterworks where you’ll hop in your canoe and paddle downstream to Diamond Park\, stopping off at sites along the way to check out current works and future plans. At the end of the paddle\, you will be transported back to the car park at Noreuil. \nCost: $50 per person. \nWhen: 8:00 am til around 12:00 pm. \nWhere: Meet at the Noreuil Park canoe ramp. \nWhat is supplied: Canoe hire including life jacket and morning tea. Please advise of any special dietary requirements. \nWhat to bring: Appropriate clothes for canoeing and walking. DESCRIPTION:Our Planned Activity for Saturday 7th March is weed management – cutting and pasting; hand removal and digging using mattocks.\nWe will focus on ‘attacking’ an introduced pest plant\, the Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus) which is regrowing on Pine Rd\, Chiltern.\nIf we have enough people \, we will do nest/mammal box monitoring in a different area of the Park.\n\nWhere: meet outside the Chiltern Post Office:\n9am IF the BOM forecast temperature is less than 35 degrees .\n8am IF it’s forecast to be hotter than 35 degrees.\n(If you are coming from the south \, and prefer to meet at Pine Rd for weed management\, here is the map reference : https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ec2zdLqe3Q3bnTnQ7. )\nWe try to carpool from Chiltern.\n\nWhen : Saturday 7th March\n\n\n\nWhat to bring: water\, hat\, sturdy shoes\, long pants\, sunscreen\, gloves.\nWeed management: “Friends”  will provide herbicide\, brushes\, jars\, and facemasks.\nBring rubber gloves\, small saws/secateurs\, mattocks.\nWe will break for morning tea so bring something to drink \, and a chair (or rug) to sit on. “Friends” will provide something to eat for morning tea.\nContact Liz if you have any questions: secretary@friends0fchiltern.org.au

Then this is your opportunity. \nOur Repair Café is a free meeting place to bring along broken household items such as furniture\, clothing\, textiles and battery-operated appliances and learn how to fix them with the help of experienced\, volunteer repairers. You can also bring along small\, blunt garden tools like secateurs and we’ll show you how to sharpen them. Maximum three items per person per session. A donation is greatly appreciated for the repair of your items.
