SUMMARY:Nature’s next chapter: 2025 John Paul Memorial Lecture
DESCRIPTION:The urgency of environmental storytelling\n\nThe John Paul Memorial Lecture is made possible thanks to the continued support and generosity of the Paul Family Foundation. \nSo many of us can attribute our love of nature to environmental communication pioneers such as Sir David Attenborough\, Dr Jane Goodall or Rachel Carson. Who is following in their footsteps to fly the flag for nature?  \nThere is growing urgency to protect what’s left of our ecosystems and biodiversity. How do we cut through\, inspire and communicate this urgency – on a local and global scale?   \nAnd importantly\, how does this translate to action on the ground?  \nFor the 10th annual John Paul Memorial Lecture\, we’re delighted to invite you an evening of inspiration and wonder with three of Victoria’s most outstanding environmental storytellers.  \nWe are thrilled to gather in-person for this special evening. As we appreciate not everyone can come to Melbourne\, we are also pleased to livestream this event.

SUMMARY:Invasive Grass ID and Removal in Wodonga
DESCRIPTION:African lovegrass is a significant weed problem in Australia\, impacting agriculture and the environment. It is a highly competitive\, unpalatable pasture species that can form dense monocultures\, reducing pasture productivity and increasing fire risk. \nAfrican lovegrass can displace native vegetation\, particularly in heathlands\, woodlands\, and grasslands\, impacting biodiversity. Its ability to thrive in poor soils and spread rapidly makes it difficult to control. \nLovegrass is an emerging weed in Wodonga. \nCome along to learn how to identify the weed as well as strategies to control it. \n  \nWhen: 9:30 am to 11:30 am\, Tuesday 23rd September [please note new date from original listing!]. \nWhere: Meet at the Kent McKoy Reserve access on Nordsvan Drive.\nThe reserve access path is between house numbers 25 and 27. \nWhat is supplied: All tools and any specific safety equipment needed. \nWhat to bring: BYO drinking water. For your safety\, please wear covered shoes (preferably boots)\, long pants\, long sleeves\, and a hat. \nPlease register here! \n  \nThis demonstration day is being delivered by Parklands Albury Wodonga in partnership with Friends of Susan Campbell and Kent McKoy Reserves and Wodonga Urban Landcare Network. \nThank you to the Victorian Government for financial support through the Partnerships Against Pest program.
