SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - Lockhart’s Gap Track Walk
DESCRIPTION:This is an out and back hike on the Lockhart’s Gap Track near Tallangatta\, starting at the Tallangatta Lookout. The first hour is a very steep\, thigh burning uphill climb on a fire maintenance road so you’ll need to be physically fit for the challenge! From the top of the climb the walking becomes a bit more cruisy but be warned there are still some very steep ups and downs to follow. Hike poles are recommended. This is a great hit out if you’re thinking of the Lockhart’s Gap Crossover Walk later in the year or maybe tackling Bogong. We’ll walk for a couple of hours on the track before taking a short break and then retracing our steps and gathering at the Lookout for a shared afternoon tea before heading our separate ways. SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - Mollisons Galleries\, Mt Buffalo
DESCRIPTION:This is a return hike featuring massive granite boulders\, snow gum forests and sweeping views on the Buffalo Plateau and ends at the rocky outcrop of Mollinson’s Galleries\, a series of huge boulders overlooking the Buffalo Valley and Lake Buffalo. The walk involves a 300m climb and descent and is gently undulating. There will be options to make side trips to Og\, Gog and Magog along the way. Because we are walking in an Alpine environment you will need to carry appropriate gear.
