DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a morning out at a local BushBank restoration project near you!\nJoin us for a ‘Walk and Talk’ at a private property in Wooragee to learn how we’re transforming landscapes and supporting biodiversity on private land. You’ll hear directly from Cassina Environmental\, project partners & local contractors and see the revegetation efforts firsthand. \nWhat is BushBank? \nThe Victorian Government’s $77 million BushBank Program is restoring more than 20\,000 hectares of land across Victoria to create healthy wildlife habitat and capture carbon. The majority of work is taking place on private land through partnerships with private landowners. \nIt’s the most ambitious environmental restoration program in Victoria’s history. \nAbout the project \nThis Wooragee property\, just out of Beechworth\, has been a labour of love for the landowners for over a decade. Since 2011\, they’ve been revegetating the site and reducing grazing to make their land more hospitable to species like the critically endangered Swift Parrot and Regent Honeyeater. In 2025\, they applied for the BushBank program to give a boost to their efforts to restore the 59 hectare block. \nThis year\, the site underwent large-scale direct seeding and supplementary planting\, delivered in partnership with Cassinia and co-funded by Greenfleet. Then this is your opportunity. \nOur Repair Café is a free meeting place to bring along broken household items such as furniture\, clothing\, textiles and battery-operated appliances and learn how to fix them with the help of experienced\, volunteer repairers. You can also bring along small\, blunt garden tools like secateurs and we’ll show you how to sharpen them. Maximum three items per person per session. A donation is greatly appreciated for the repair of your items.
