DESCRIPTION:Wodonga Council is seeking community members to help shape environmental and sustainability priorities across our region. \nThe committee will bring together diverse perspectives and expertise to inform local plans\, policies and projects that matter to our community’s future.\nVolunteers and sustainability-minded people from the Wodonga community are invited get involved! \nThe Wodonga Sustainability Advisory Committee supports Wodonga Council by providing community-informed advice on sustainability and environmental matters. \nThe committee brings together local perspectives and expertise to explore sustainability ideas\, foster collaboration across the community and provide feedback on plans\, policies and projects. \nIn doing so\, it helps to ensure that Wodonga Council’s sustainability initiatives reflect community expectations and align with its strategic goals and values. \nBy joining the committee\, community members have the opportunity to share their knowledge\, represent local views and help to shape a more sustainable future for Wodonga. \n  \nWhat’s involved: \n\nMinimum 7 member positions available\n2-3 year terms\n4 meetings per year\n$100 remuneration per meeting\n\n  \nWho they’re looking for:\nPeople who care about sustainability\, think analytically\, and value collaboration. DESCRIPTION:The Street Harvest project is being reinvigorated – Please consider growing an extra row of produce in your garden to support this project and Uniting in Wodonga. \nAll produce can be dropped off at Uniting (1 Nilmar Avenue\, Wodonga between. 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday to Friday). \nThe project builds and encourages community capacity and improves food security for Wodonga residents by distributing excess fruit and vegetables\, harvested from residential gardens\, to local residents and emergency food relief agencies. \n‘Street Harvest’ was a pilot project developed in Wodonga in 2010. The Street Harvest Project grew out of a passion for transforming the local food system into one that is sustainable and strong.
