SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - Mt Beauty Survey Track and Pole Track
DESCRIPTION:This walk takes us on some of the tracks through the forest around Mt Beauty and gives us views up to the snow-covered mountains. We start on the Survey Track which runs parallel to the main road up to Cranky Charlie. It is a steady climb but not steep\, on a good path. We then cross the road and head back down the Pole Track\, passing some of the oddly named mountain bike trails. We continue on down towards the Gorge Walk that leads to the river. There are a few options along the way and we will stop somewhere with a nice outlook for lunch! Total length about 12 km\, all on tracks\, pace will be slowish. \nPlease phone me AFTER 11 August to book in for this walk because I cannot confirm it before then. We will be in touch with those who had registered and look to reschedule soon! \n  \nACF-AWR are proud to partner with Wodonga Urban Landcare Network (WULN) for this exciting\, nature-based\, citizen science event with Karen Retra.   \nKaren will take us on a beautiful\, slow\, approximately 2.5 km walk and show us how to use the FrogID app to record your important citizen scientist findings.  We hope you will hear the call of the endangered Sloane’s Froglet! \nWe will also enjoy Karen’s passion for\, and extensive knowledge of\, many aspects of our local environment as we walk the High Country Rail Trail near Killara where Karen took this beautiful photograph. \nWULN has provided more information about the Sloane’s Champions project and how to use the FrogID app that you may want to check before attending the event. \nYou don’t want to miss this event!  Places are limited so be quick to RSVP.  You’ll receive more information about getting to the event and what to bring once you RSVP.
