DESCRIPTION:Toxic household chemicals\, such as cleaning products\, pool chemicals and pesticides can be safely disposed of for free at Sustainability Victoria’s Detox Your Home events\, in partnership with local councils. Collected items are recovered for reuse or safely disposed of. \nWith community safety in mind\, Detox Your Home events are drive-through (no walk-ins) and contactless. \nThis service is for household chemicals only. \n  \nThe following items are accepted: \n\n\n\nAcids and alkalis Aerosol cans (empty cans go in household recycling)\n\n\n\n\nAnti-freeze\, brake fluid\, car body filler\, car wax cleaners – ammonia based\nCooking oil\nCoolant\nDetergents\, disinfectants and drain cleaners\nFertiliser\nFire extinguishers\nFloor-care products and waxes\nFuels – petrol\, diesel\, kerosene\, other\nGlues – water-based and solvents\nHerbicides and weed killers\nInsect spray and pesticides\nNail polish and remover\nCosmetics\nOven cleaner\nThinners\, turps and paint stripper\nPool chemicals\nRat poison\nSolvents\nTransmission fluid\nWood preservatives and finishes (oils and varnish)\n\nSee the full list of accepted items on our website. \n  \nFor free registration and to nominate the time you will attend go to: detoxwondonga2024.eventbrite.com.au \n  \nPaint is not accepted at this event.
