SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - Wild Horse Creek
DESCRIPTION:Wild Horse Creek is on Track 107 about 10kms from the carpark at Watchbed Creek\, where this walk begins. We will initially follow a management track before veering off and following the pole line and Kelly Track to Fitzgeralds and Kelly Hut. This part of the walk is fairly flat and has great views. At Kelly Hut we join Track 107 and descend to Wild Horse Creek\, where we will have lunch. After the climb back up to Kelly Hut we will make the return trip back to the cars via the Aquaduct Track but this will depend on a number of factors including the weather. All up about 20kms/23km via aquaduct on way back. \n\nGrade 3 Medium\nLeader: Deb\nPhone: 0410047884 before 8pm\nParticipant numbers:Up to 10\nFinal booking date: Wednesday 27th March\nFor more information and updates about BBC activities\, check www.borderbushwalkingclub.com.au

SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - Nail Can Hill and River Stroll
DESCRIPTION:The ride starts in Yackandandah and follows the new bike trail to Beechworth\, a distance of around 32kms. There is an option to start near the roundabout on the Wodonga/Beechworth Road and avoid the uphill section out of Yack\, but then you won’t have the thrill of riding down it at the end of the day!\nElevation Yack 283m; elevation Beechworth 560m\, but with ups and downs of trail … about 450m of climbing to Beechworth.\nWe’ll lunch at Beechworth\, maybe a picnic at Lake Sambell or buy something\, then ride back and undertake some ‘electrolyte replacement therapy’ at the Star Hotel.\nYou should bring a spare tube/puncture repair kit\, water\, snacks\, warm/wet weather gear. \n\n\n\nGrade 4 Medium-Hard\nLeader: Ian Trevaskis\nPhone: 0425782983\nParticipant numbers:8\nFinal booking date: Friday May 3rd\nFor more information and updates about BBC activities\, check www.borderbushwalkingclub.com.au\nRisks: Other cyclists\, highway crossings\, possible rain\, wild animals

SUMMARY:Border Bushwalking Club - Mt Beauty Survey track\, pole track and gorge.
DESCRIPTION:This walk takes us on the Survey Track in Mt Beauty\, an old route that was ‘rediscovered’ after the 2003 bushfires. We walk through timbered gullies with views up to Mt Bogong\, cross the road at Cranky Charlie and head back towards the town before heading down to where the West Kiewa river flows through a gorge. Hopefully some of the local trees will still be in their autumn colour. This walk is all on tracks\, a few ups and downs but nothing too steep. Distance about 12 km. \n\n\n\nGrade 2 Easy-Medium\nLeader: Eileen Clark\nPhone: 0412 042 195\nParticipant numbers:12\nFinal booking date: Wednesday 15 May\nRisks: Cyclists\, cold weather\, slippery tracks\, road crossings.\nFor more information and updates about BBC activities\, check www.borderbushwalkingclub.com.au\n\n\n\n  \n
