This event is the second in Indigo Shire Youth for Climate Action (ISYCA)’s North East Youth Climate Series of events to engage our community in discussions and capacity building for community sustainability, resilience and action. The Youth Climate Series is supported by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), and OzGREEN. The first event in the series was a discussion on how young people can engage with government, with Indi MP Helen Haines, Indigo Shire Mayor Jenny O’Connor, and DELWP Regional Director Stephen Chapple. This event can be seen here.

‘Communicating Climate: How to Ace Difficult Conversations’ is a chance to learn from an expert climate communicator, Lee Constable. Lee has been a kids’ science TV show presenter; hosts a podcast on social justice and environmental sustainability; is the author of the children’s book How to Save the Whole Stinkin’ Planet; has travelled to Antarctica with an all-female expedition; and is a presenter in the Science Circus.

Lee will be talking about how we can communicate on the challenging topic of climate change to a whole range of audiences. The event will provide lots of opportunities for fun activities, asking questions, and to practice your own climate communication skills.

If you are a young or young-ish person from North East Victoria, who is interested in what is happening in the world around you, and wants to know how to improve your own communications skills, please join us!
