SUMMARY:Bringing indigenous pollinators and flower-visitors back into our cities
DESCRIPTION:Come along and join urban ecologist and entomologist Dr Luis Mata for an engaging presentation exploring the remarkable diversity of indigenous pollinators and flower-visiting insects that share our urban landscapes\, and how we can help them thrive. \nLuis’s research focuses on urban biodiversity\, citizen science\, and the ecological benefits of greening our towns and cities. Whether you’re a gardener\, landholder\, volunteer\, planner\, or simply curious about nature\, this talk will provide inspiration and practical ideas for creating healthier\, more biodiverse cities. \nAs the final event of Project Sprout\, this talk will celebrate the community action and enthusiasm generated through our recent planting blitzes. After getting plants into the ground\, this is an opportunity to learn more about the incredible insects those plantings can support\, and the important role they play in healthy urban ecosystems. \nFollowing the presentation\, stay for a chat with fellow attendees and enjoy complimentary hot drinks and refreshments. Everyone is welcome. ☕🌿 \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to admin@wodongalandcare.org.au \nProject Sprout is proudly supported by Landcare Australia and BUPA.
