We’d love to include your stories of local sustainable living in the Living Lightly column.

Living Lightly content provides a great celebration of our local communities, sustainable living and the environment. We’d love you to add your experiences, knowledge and ideas by contributing an article, or a few! A big thank you to all past contributors – we hope you’ll continue to share, too.
The Living Lightly format is flexible online, with an increased likelihood the Border Mail will also publish an article when it is within the guidelines below.

Guidelines for contributors
- Articles of 400-500 words in length and written in conversational style.
- They will be published on the Ecoportal website and emailed to approximately 250 Living Lightly subscribers.
- Your article will possibly also be published on The Border Mail’s website, Facebook page and in hard copy (Border Mail publication can no longer be guaranteed, particularly hard copy). Odds of publication in The Border Mail will increase if your article fits in with the general news stories of the time.
- Wherever possible, please include at least one good quality, high resolution photo with appropriate permission for use. If you don’t have a suitable image, the coordinator may be able to help source one.
- Please include a title for your article – this will be used on the Ecoportal website, though The Border Mail will likely create their own title, depending on the available space.
- Please include your name and any group(s) you might be affiliated with.
