Featuring: Author, Arnold Zable and musician, Dr Hecham Harb.

Story has always been a way to make sense of the world and give shape to our fragile lives. At the heart of story lies a love of both the oral and written word, its rhythms, and its potential to express both our individual uniqueness and what it is that unites us all.

In a special event to launch the 2019 WAM Program, featured Festival author, Arnold Zable, presents The Humanising Power of Story.

In this mesmerising talk, Arnold Zable draws on four decades as a writer, traveller and storyteller to interweave tales, readings, vignettes and ideas that encapsulate one writer’s adventures with the art and craft of story. Journeying across cultures and borders, with contemporary tales of exile and the eternal human search for belonging, his tales echo and reference archetypal framing stories such as Homer’s Odyssey and Scheherazade’s One Thousand and One Nights.

Join us for an intimate evening celebrating the art of story. With special guest, Dr Hecham Harb, sharing music from his Syrian homeland on violin and Oud.

Popup bar open from 7pm.

Price: $10
