Our morning kicks off with Damien Cook, a Senior Ecologist and a recognised expert in wetland, riparian and terrestrial ecology, who will present a 1 hour seminar on wetland ecology, so come along and learn something new about our environment!
Following the seminar, we’ll head to the Mokoan Ponds (Dam Wall borrow pits) to conduct our autumn wetland planting. We’ve got a great variety of plants this year including grasses, rushes, sedges and others! We’re looking forward to the results of this planting improving our habitat to support turtle conservation and other species at the Wetlands.
Morning tea refreshments and a soup lunch will be provided by the Friends of Winton Wetlands.
Please bring suitable clothing and footwear (boots, gumboots and/or waders), water bottle or cup, gardening gloves, trowel/shovel, wire snips and mallet (if you have them available).
