Gateway Island is central to the history of Albury Wodonga. It is notable as a hub for sustainability and the arts, and the surrounding parklands have been transformed in recent years to natural bushlands.
This year Parklands and the Wodonga Urban Landcare Network celebrate Seniors Month and World Habitat Day with a loop walk beside the Murray River to the Bhutanese Community Farm and back. We will walk through restored natural bushland to the farm where there will be opportunity to talk with the farm Rangers and learn about the market gardens.
An easy walk on a sometimes uneven earthen surface.
All are welcome. No cost.
Time: 9.30am to 11.30am
Venue: Gateway Island, Lincoln Causeway, Wodonga
Meeting place: Please meet our guide at the Sustainable Activity Centre in Gateway Village.
