Then grab the opportunity to book a free 15 minute speed date with Ross Beaver (sustainable building designer), Susan Hutson (Permaculturalist/garden designer) or Trevor Brown (energy expert), during the Sustainable Living Fair. First in, best dressed!


Ross designed and built his first solar house in 1980. Since then he has been designing new houses and additions with priority on energy efficiency, thermal comfort, functional liveability and site-appropriate design response. See:


Susan has been practising Permaculture for over 30 years and working as an educator and consultant since obtaining formal qualifications (Permaculture Design Course in 2009 and a Diploma in Permaculture in 2013). Since then she has been working mainly in the urban setting with designing community gardens and helping people in urban areas with property design. Susan lives and works in Beechworth.


Trevor is an electrician specialising in energy conservation. He has 27 years experience conducting energy efficiency audits for homes and businesses, and advising on the best strategies to save energy and money. Trevor operates Yalwarne Electrical in Sydney and is completing a project for Wodonga Council to assess the energy efficiency of all council buildings.
