West Hume Landcare, supported by the Squirrel Glider LAMP Project, are holding a Community Tree Planting morning and free BBQ lunch. Help create important roadside links for Squirrel Gliders and have fun getting your hands dirty this National Tree Day. Children are welcome to come along but please be aware that, as we are planting along roadsides, they will require close supervision by their parents/guardians.
What to Bring: We do have some planting equipment but please bring a shovel, gloves, water bottle, weather protection gear and wear sturdy footwear.
Locations: We will be planting at a couple of sites.
Site 1: 10am. Coming from Burrumbuttock along the Howlong-Burrumbuttock Rd, turn right onto the Back Brocklesby Rd and travel 2.5km, then turn left onto the first unmade road. Park off to the side of the road.
Site 2: 11.30am. Coming from Burrumbuttock along the Howlong-Burrumbuttock Rd, turn left onto Major Creek Rd and park where safe and walk up the Howlong-Burrumbuttock Rd to where you see the planting site. BBQ lunch to follow.
RSVP: To Kathie Le Busque by 26 July on Kathie@petaurus.net.au or 0408 443 261 to assist with numbers for catering. In case of wet weather, check our Facebook page (@westhumelandcare) to confirm if the event is going ahead.
