Back by popular demand – Seed Savers Albury-Wodonga is again screening of the film “Seed, the Untold Story”.
Our previous event featuring this film (two years ago) was very popular. Come along if you missed it or to watch again!
When: Thursday 22 August, 6:30pm start for film screening, at the Sustainable Activity Centre, on the Lincoln Causeway, Wodonga. Map.
We will also have our Annual General Meeting before the film and members can access the seed bank. See below for more details.
About the film:
Few things on Earth are as miraculous and vital as seeds. Worshipped and treasured since the dawn of humankind. In the last century, 94% of our seed varieties have disappeared.
SEED: The Untold Story follows passionate seed keepers protecting our 12,000 year-old food legacy. As biotech chemical companies control the majority of our seeds, farmers, scientists, lawyers, and indigenous seed keepers fight a David and Goliath battle to defend the future of our food. In a harrowing and heartening story, these heroes rekindle a lost connection to our most treasured resource and revive a culture connected to seeds.
SEED features Vandana Shiva, Dr. Jane Goodall, Andrew Kimbrell, Winona Laduke and Raj Patel.
Please also note:
The event opens at 6pm for access to the seed bank and our AGM (that’s the Annual General Meeting, and we typically take less than 10 minutes to complete ours). Or come just in time for the movie, if you wish.
The movie will start at 6:30pm SHARP and runs for 94 minutes. We’ll pack up and close by 8.30pm.
Free entry for members. (Membership fees have helped us to purchase the screening rights).
Non members are also welcome, we ask a $4 contribution.
The venue has limited heating and seating options so please dress very warmly, bring a rug and perhaps bring a chair, if you have a comfy, portable one.
Optional: bring some movie snacks or supper to share.
