Bernie and Glenda Datson have organised the outing for 5th October.
The outing will be to Castle Creek Bushlands Reserve, https://www.parklands-alburywodonga.org.au/explore-your-parks/Castle-Creek.asp and the reserves of Baranduda, and if we have time to Mt Baranduda.
We will meet at 9am at the hay shed on Castle Creek Road, Wodonga. The reserve entrance is opposite this. We will spend about 2 hours here then move around to Drapers Rd for a brief roadside stop to check for Speckled Warblers, then on to the Baranduda Community Centre, off Baranduda Boulevard, where toilets are available and we will have morning tea. We will spend some time in the Stringybark reserve before lunch. After lunch we will check a couple of other reserves. If time permits we will then travel to Mt Baranduda. This is a very rough, part gravel, part pot-holed bitumen road but if traversed slowly it is OK for 2wd vehicles.
